Thanks Addie

Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.8

Good morning

Addie asked me this morning if my hair is black, a common belief among the kids. I answered no, it is dark brown. Then I asked her why, she seemed very concerned. She asked, "What if the flies think it is poop and they land in it?" I assured her I would promptly shake them out. She was still not satisfied. She was worried that I would have fly poop on my hands. I told her I would wash my hands, which solved the dilemma for her. I Love Addie!

I almost forgot about these...

I wrote these for Father's Day on Mike's first deployment.

Footprints

Here is a print of my little feet,
sit down and take a seat.

I want to tell you how I love you,
a card just wouldn’t do.

So I decided to write a poem,
because I can’t call on the telephone.

We are so many miles away,
on this special Father’s Day.

It is my first,
being away is the worst.

It won’t be long,
until you can sing me a song.

You can give me a hug,
I’ll be your little snuggle-bug.

You can give me a kiss,
something I really miss.

I love you more than the sun,
and I miss you a ton.

I look forward to the day we meet again,
Love you little Adelynn.

What my Daddy means to me…

I walk in his footsteps,
with my little feet.
He is the best,
he is so sweet.

In time,
my feet will grow.
then,
I will have to go.

The world is so big,
but by my side he,
shall,
always be.

His many lessons,
I will take with me.
I will make him proud,
just wait and see.

My hero,
I love him so,
even more,
than he could know.

Thank you Daddy,
you are more to me,
so much more than,
I could hope to be.

Daddy,
I love you every bit,
Love,
your little man Wyatt.

Bedtime Kisses

I am Daddy’s first,
I came into the world with a burst.

The day I was born Daddy cried,
in Daddy’s arms I like to hide.

Daddy means the world to me,
with him is where I want to be.

I write him many a letter,
to make the distance feel better.

Bedtime is a special time,
for a few seconds Daddy is all mine.

He gives me lot of kisses,
I know that he really misses.

We do fingers, ears, noses, and eyes,
my favorite is butterflies.

It will not be long before his arms I can touch,
I look forward to that so much.

I can not wait to sit on Daddy’s knee,
Love you darling, Mackenzie.

Uncertain

I think of Mackenzie, who is 8, and think she would have no idea what this would mean. She wouldn't understand it at all. I think that is so young; how can this child really understand his choices?

Calendar

Wow!   How things have changed.  I used to have the next yearly calendar (from Snapfish) done in November, just waiting for our Christmas pictures.  I just finished and order our 2011 calendar today.  I pledge that next year I will have it all ready and waiting to go (yeah sure)!  Oh, well at least we are having fun :)

Amazing man

It is amazing he was so healthy! If I lived as long as him, I would die in 2093. I would have 82 years left to live! Rest in peace Walter.

Growing Cody

Yesterday, Cody said, "Addie!"  Then I took Cody in our room to see Mike, when we rounded the corner and he saw Mike he said, "Hi Dad!"  This morning he shook his head no and said "No!"  He is getting so big!

We have a surprise brewing for Mike.  If you are reading this, do not even bother to bug me about it.  I will not tell you, but don't ask the kids they cannot keep anything quiet.

What a beautiful day.  The kids have played outside almost the entire day.  I did have to give them quick showers after they came in, but now we are all set for bedtime.  We are going to take the rest of the day easy, then cuddle up and read some books before bed.  First, I have to finish the laundry monster, I am sooooo close.  Off to find something to entertain the kiddos, preferably something very quiet :)

Now we can buy Addie shoes, Mike is going to get paid! Although, we were behind the Republicans holding out for more budget cuts. Even if it meant not getting paid for awhile. Off to the shoe store :)

Accident

Mackenzie was messing around and fell. Her top front teeth went into her lip. The blood freaked her out. She also has a nice scrap on her foot and leg. I am not as worried about her lip as her botton teeth. One is bruised and bloody in her gum. I am sure she is alright, but I wish I could talk to a dentist or doctor.

Stand up for breastfeeding

I am glad that this woman stood up for what is right. I hope this helps breastfeeding moms. I have experienced situations like this myself and I even use a cover. I have even had doctors ask when I will quit breastfeeding (Cody is only ten months old). At my last visit, the doctor basically stated that I should not still be breastfeeding. I cannot understand this, especially from someone who should promote and support what is best for my baby!

Mini-vacation

Hello,
We had a great weekend in the Raleigh area!  We went to a museum each day and had so much fun learning.  The kids just loved being able to eat at Pelican's Snowballs in Apex.  We went there several times in just three short days :)  We had planned on going camping, but the ground was so wet after an entire week of heavy rainfall, so we changed to a hotel.  What great memories we made and we counted it all as school, so we had off today.  Yeah, it gave me a chance to get everything re-organized after the weekend.  I did not take any pictures, since we kept forgetting to actually bring the camera into the museums, but here are some pictures of our April Fool's Day tricks on Mike.  Take care.

Balloons over the door; they really flew!

A delicious meal for Grandpa.

Money will fall upon you soon.  There was money in the roll!
