Congressional Math and the RNC

Please remove me from all contact lists.  After the sellout by the GOP concerning the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013, I no longer wish to be associated with the Republican Party.  I will express my disgust during the 2014 elections.  Selling out the military to secure their own jobs, is not a trait I look for when voting for Congressional members.  Maybe part of the solution is to activate a new base of candidates, that will actually represent their constituents.  Congressional math can only be explained by greed and self-interest.  Saving $6 billion over 10 years on the backs of our military, instead of saving over $40 billion for the same timeframe by closing a tax loop for illegal immigrant child tax credits!  How naive and ignorant of me to assume that a SSN should be required to file a tax return!  I see where Washington's priorities are!  Well this active duty military spouse and veteran will not be supporting the GOP with our hard earned money, especially since my husband will be retiring shortly and our funds will be reduced.  I need to go warn the Department of Corrections, Fire Departments, and Police Departments to watch their backs and their retirement, at least Congress Members do not need to worry about their retirements.  Although,  I would not either if I voted for my own benefits!!

Christmas Favorite

One of my favorite Christmas traditions!  We did ours when Mack was only 2 years old.

We read one page a night until Christmas!  I LOVE all our family Christmas traditions!  We just unwrapped and read How the Grinch Stole Christmas and You Are My Miracle.  Two of my favorite Christmas books!  The kids were riveted.  What a magical night!

Christmas Tree

We went to a cut your own tree farm.  It was great!  The kids pushed and pulled the cart out to the field and back.

The people were so sweet!  A Boy Scout troop was there to help, what polite kids.  Since, we brought our own helpers, we declined, but they sure were sweet.

We reminisced about our HUGE trees in years past;  vaulted ceilings were really fun.  The kids had big eyes, but we found the perfect tree.  A few saws by Wyatt and Mike and it was down.

The kids suggested little trees for their bedrooms, so off to Big Lots and Hobby Lobby.  Wow!  We discovered there wasn't much left.  What a difference between a small town with limited stores compared to a "big" city.  Although, I love the atmosphere of a smaller town.  We just have to start shopping earlier.  (We ran into that with Mike's ball last week and Wyatt's suit, very limited selection.)

Merry Christmas!  Let the chocolate countdowns, advent wreaths, Jesse trees, nightly Christmas carols, and unwrapping bedtime Christmas books begin!
