President

Addie said, the only thing "presidentially" about President Obama, is he is presently a pain.

Cereal

Mack says, Dad there is a piece of cereal in my bed.  Addie says, sorry Cody and I were eating cereal in your bed today. 
I love our kids.  I found a cup of cereal in the washer, a frog in the garbage disposal, Legos in the cupboard, dinosaurs in my bed, a speaker is the dog's water dish, and finally found the top to the broken whipped cream can hidden in the fridge (and that was all in the last 24 hours)!

Honesty

I asked Addie if I could get one more hug before bedtime.  She said no, so Mike said Addie!  To which she replies, well she asked and I answered her!
She is always honest.

Room Service

Addie was laying in our bed this morning.  She wanted to write in her journal, but she didn't have a pen.  She asked, do you a pen?  No, Addie, you have to go get one.  Her reply, don't you have any room service around here?  I said no sweetie.  She said only on Mother's Day?!  I love her antics.

Lots of Mailboxes

Addie said, "Wow, that guy has A LOT of mailboxes!"  Wyatt replied, those aren't all his mailboxes, those are for the entire community.  They are so cute.

Patience

Last night at dinner I was trying to get Addie to finish her meal.  I asked, again, Addie are you done yet?  She replied, "No, you are a mom aren't you supposed to have patience?" 

I am exempt from patience during the 4 B's: books, bathroom, brushing, and bed.  Especially when Mike hasn't seen the kids since Sunday and he is exceptionally grumpy.  Really, she was right, I was being impatient.

Growl

Addie asked me this morning, why did my butt growl?

Hippo

Mike called and Addie answered.  She had him on speakerphone, so I could hear everything.  Mike asked if Mommy was there and she said no, giggling of course.  He asked again and she said, no she got  eaten by a hippo!  She laughed hysterically!

Stinker Girl

Addie was being very disobidient, so I asked her, Addie was are you being so bad?!  She replies, my DNA!  And laughed! 

Tonight Addie came into the frontroom to ask for another book to read for bedtime.  As she walks back to her room, she says goodbye to which we reply goodnight.  She says, I said goodbye.  Mike asked where are you going?  She says out my window and laughs hysterically all the way to her room.  Mike urgently says, you better go check!  She says with a laugh, just kidding!

We went to the grand re-opening of our homeschool consignment bookstore today.  It was great.  I sat in on a session from the North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) President.  They had a raffle at the end.  I won the grand prize, a $50 gift certificate to the store!  Now to have Mike watch the kids so I can actually look at books :)

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes

The girls were asking about Ethel, Mike's Mom at bedtime.  Addie was crying, because she never got to meet Grandma.  I was trying to comfort her, so I was telling her how Daddy was a lot like Grandma.  Mackenzie asks, so Grandma was grumpy?  Mike laughed, as did I, and said no she was very sweet.  Good one Mack!

Ants and Addie

Addie got food all over and I told her she was making a mess with crumbs everywhere.  She asked, will ants come?  I said, yes probably.  Oh, goody I meant for ants to come so I can have them as pets!  Oh, I can't wait!  Can we get an ant farm for them?  She is so silly!

Good theory

Addie didn't want to get out of bed this morning.  "I am trying to sleep so that I can grow."

Conversation with Addie

Here is my discussion with Addie tonight as she was washing her hands.  We were talking about Cody getting bigger.  Mom, it will take weeks for Cody to grow up.  Just like it took weeks for me to finally turn 5, but now I am five.  Addie, is five your favorite number?  Yes!  Mine too.  Why?  Cuz you’re five.  Is that because I am your favorite child? (Big grin!)  No.  Who is your favorite child?  All four of you!  Well, typically Cody gets all the attention!

She has had a hard time giving up her role as baby of the family.  Such a little character!

Yahoooo!

The Family Is On The Way!!!!!!  Safe and fast (without speeding tickets) travels!

Wyatt said you are so close he can almost hear you!

Addie said she can almost smell you!

Knock, knock

Addie's made up knock, knock joke:

Addie:  Knock, Knock

Mike:  Who's There?

Addie:  Karate.

Mike:  Karate Who?

Addie:  She kicks his leg and says, that karate!

All the way!

I told Addie this morning.  Watch out for Cody, he is a little grumpy!  She said, I think he is all the way grumpy, up to the top!  Then she said he is a grumpy dog, get it because he has on dog pajamas!  She is so cute.  I just love her little, feisty spirit.

Bedtime with Addie

Addie was laying in her bed and said something is poking me. I felt under her covers and said it is your Bible, so she ducks her head under the covers and comes up with her cell phone (Grandpa's old one) and says I'm going to text message before bed. Then she declared I am going to make myself into a fuzzball (wrap up in her covers). I just went to check on her and I asked her why she wasn't text messaging and she told me, I need to get some rest now. She is so cute!

Addie is funny

"Mommy said, no diapers on Elijah!" We were coloring a Bible picture for school. The kids drew a diaper on their first picture when I was busy. They re-did their pictures. They are so funny. I wonder what God thinks of all this?!

Addition

Mack asked Wyatt, what is 4 + 4? Wyatt replies 8. Then Mack asked what is 40 + 40? Wyatt says I do not know. Mack said it is easy you just add the D you know 8D (80). So funny.

Voice

I ask Cody why he is being a grump butt. I hear a quiet voice from the stairs (Addie is having quiet time upstairs), "probably cuz he wants me!"
