We switched Cody around.  He really likes it, so does Mike, since Cody can finally eat in his seat.  Now Mike doesn't have to hold him on his lap.  Although he did fall asleep with a cheese roll-up in his mouth (I know this isn't very safe).

Cody's Knee

Addie pummeled him on the driveway last night.  He didn't hardly cry, he yelled grabbed his knee and wanted to keep playing.  He is a tough little man!

Jam Is Done

We picked 4 flats of strawberries Saturday.  We froze some, made jam with most, and are eating a lot.  Strawberry shortcake is the favorite so far.  Homemade strawberry waffles for lunch, I ran out of time for breakfast.  We ended up doing 3 batches of jam, 20 half pints and 2 pints.  I also found these cool dissolvable labels.  Yummy!

Awesome Pesto Sandwich

I used the spinach pesto sauce I made this weekend!  It actually was hot all the way through, even though it doesn't look like it in the last picture.  Super delicious!

Big Socks

Cody was mad at naptime and threw everything out of his crib, well he must have gotten cold, because he put on Wyatt's socks.  He is still wearing then 20 minutes later; it is so funny watching him walk in them. 

When I was walking to his room for his nap, Mike called.  I told Cody to say goodnight to Daddy.  He didn't say anything for a minute, then said a very desperate "Help!"  Too bad it didn't work, he still had to take his nap.

Not That Bad

I don't think these pictures are that bad.  I cannot imagine 8 Addie's at once, my walls would look WAY worse!!!!!!!!  I don't get the spay paint.  Locking kids in their room is not something she should be doing, nor locking them outside to finish their supper.  I have to admit I have thought about these ideas, but I would never really do them.  The plumbing needs to be fixed, but I have seen people put kids' toilets outside, not out of necessity though. 
The kids outside barefoot, dirty, and sans pants is no big deal.  Don't come around our house then, sometimes we even have naked kids that are filthy running around, although not for long, I can catch them pretty quick.  Addie was famous for stripping naked outside, Wyatt pees outside all the time, and Cody is nude in the house very regularly.  Sometimes I dress Cody 5 times in 20 minutes, he is a streaker!
I cannot imagine 14 young kids and being a single Mom, but I would never, never spend $540 on my hair!  That would have fixed the plumbing.  I do think she is irresponsible and in over her head, but not criminal.

Spinach Pesto

Finally ready to freeze it.  Wow, 4 cups of spinach makes a little over one ice cube tray.  I guess I was over ambitious!  I ended up with 3.5 ice cube trays.

Spinach Pesto Recipe:
1 c firmly packed fresh spinach
1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c pecans
1 to 2 cloves fresh garlic
1/4 t sea salt
1/4 c olive oil
Blend together

You can use it on chicken, noodles, sandwiches...  Store in fridge 2 to 3 days or freeze for 3 months.

Wyatt sneezed this morning and Cody said Bless You!  He its getting so big.  We put his carseat forward facing yesterday. He crawls right up in it and buckles his chest clip.   I am not so ready for him to grow up! 

Room Service

Addie was laying in our bed this morning.  She wanted to write in her journal, but she didn't have a pen.  She asked, do you a pen?  No, Addie, you have to go get one.  Her reply, don't you have any room service around here?  I said no sweetie.  She said only on Mother's Day?!  I love her antics.

Just Saying

If your are a greeter, shouldn't you greet people, not stand there with your arms crossed frowning at everyone?!?!

If you work in customer service, shouldn't you be friendly to the customers that pay your wages?!?!  I am pretty sure the definition of customer service is to serve the customer!!!!!!!!!!

3 Miles

We made it to the 1.5 mile mark.  The kids did great on the way back, 3 miles total.  We did 2.5 miles Tuesday, 2.5 miles plus 1 mile on Wednesday, and 3 miles Saturday.  Mike only walked with us on Saturday.  We love our new passtime.

Addie said, "Wow, that guy has A LOT of mailboxes!"  Wyatt replied, those aren't all his mailboxes, those are for the entire community.  They are so cute.

Patience

Last night at dinner I was trying to get Addie to finish her meal.  I asked, again, Addie are you done yet?  She replied, "No, you are a mom aren't you supposed to have patience?" 

I am exempt from patience during the 4 B's: books, bathroom, brushing, and bed.  Especially when Mike hasn't seen the kids since Sunday and he is exceptionally grumpy.  Really, she was right, I was being impatient.

4 Outfits Later!!!!

Now I remember why I have more clothes for Cody than the other kids.  Today he went through 4 outfits: the first one was during lunch when he dumped his mac and cheese in his lap (on purpose), second was when he spilt coffee everywhere and danced in it, third was when he tried to give himself a bath, and forth was when he dumped milk all over himself at supper.  It is kinda cute to see all his adorable outfits.

I found this in the pantry.  That is a blue egg from Mike, which he bought it Afghanistan.  She is not supposed to touch it.  I think she was eating it in the closet, so I wouldn't know.  Silly, she could have eaten it at the table if she asked.

Addie was being very disobidient, so I asked her, Addie was are you being so bad?!  She replies, my DNA!  And laughed! 

Tonight Addie came into the frontroom to ask for another book to read for bedtime.  As she walks back to her room, she says goodbye to which we reply goodnight.  She says, I said goodbye.  Mike asked where are you going?  She says out my window and laughs hysterically all the way to her room.  Mike urgently says, you better go check!  She says with a laugh, just kidding!

We went to the grand re-opening of our homeschool consignment bookstore today.  It was great.  I sat in on a session from the North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE) President.  They had a raffle at the end.  I won the grand prize, a $50 gift certificate to the store!  Now to have Mike watch the kids so I can actually look at books :)

The kids had so much fun in the snow! They never get to enjoy the snow, so we have been out there playing most of the morning. Of course, we had hot chocolate after we came in.

Sprouts

Addie strikes again!  You cannot tell, but this is a huge, difficult to clean mess!  Apparently you shouldn't give your one year old brother alfalfa sprouts and laugh hysterically when he throws them around the room.  She did clean up every sprout and boy were they everywhere, even all over the treadmill in the living room!
