Wyatt's lesson

A few days ago Wyatt asks me if he can listen to Adventures in Odyssey instead of Cody's sleep music.  I said no, since it might keep them awake at night.

The next day, he decides to fix the problem.  At naptime we find a very scratched up sleep cd.  Wyatt is not the best worker nor does he have the best attitude when working, Angie can attest to that!  So I tell him he is going to work off the $10 for the CD.  Great I have $10 in my piggy bank, sorry son I said work, not pay.  I knew I was sentencing myself to ALOT of pain too, but I knew the lesson was worth it.  I knew I couldn't get help from Mike, since he is writing a 5 page research paper.

I wrote a list of chores, with the prices they were worth.  First up, vacuuming, Mike said $0.25, rough man, much easier to set low prices when you are not the one supervising.  Next, kitchen floors sweep then mop.  We really hit a brick on the next chore, laundry.  He had to fold an enormous load of laundry.  Wow!  After that I gave him a break and we played Monopoly.  We stayed busy the rest of the day.

After breakfast Sunday, I tell him he still had bathrooms, dishes, and vacuuming the garage.  Moan, but Mom that was yesterday.  Yes it was Wyatt, but you didn't finish all your chores.  I was shocked when he very pleasantly asked where the bathroom cleaning supplies were.  He went right in there and cleaned them, no whining or fussing!  I was so impressed.  More shock, he said okay I am ready to do the garage.  I told him since he did such a fabulous job and had such a great attitude he didn't have to vacuum the garage.  Wyattt gave a huge cheer and a jump in the air!!  Another step in the right direction, yeah!

The girls were thrilled they didn't have to do any chores for a day!

If you are wondering how the paper ended up that way, look, no further than Addie!

Another expense

That is higher with a bigger family, pumping our septic tank much more frequently.  I think I am going to just schedule a yearly pump for January15th, maybe we can get a discount :)

The rainbow is we shouldn't have leech field problems, since we drain it so much, and I know the septic people on a first name basis :)

Naptime Shenanigans!

Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.4

Duh!

Don't they realize that more and more regulation stifles growth?  Just when the auto industry is getting back on it's feet, let's add an over abundant amount of new green regulations on it!  Thanks again California!!!!  I understand increasing emission standards, but how are you going to mandate 1 in 7 car sales have to be electric or hybrid?!

So I go to the dealership to buy a car, and the salesperson tells me sorry can't buy that one.  Congratulations, you are the involuntary winner of a mandated electric or hybrid car!  I just can't sell you what you really want or need, but I can sell you what the government says you need! Oh silly me, I thought that the consumer drove the market, not the government.

The truth be told

All the media that says Afghans want US troops to leave is not really true.  Mike says this too, that they are scared for troops to leave.  The liberal media sure makes it look like they are very eager for us to exit,  the sooner, the better.  More liberal propaganda!

Not enough money!

This is why I have always avoided the American Girl culture.  I don't think it is the company as much as the people who flock to buy their overpriced products (I do realize no everyone is like this).  I have just started letting Mackenzie read their books.  I am still heartbroken that A Life of Faith dolls went out of business.  I wish I would have paid better attention, we were always going to buy their books for Mack, but we put it off until it was too late.  They are super expensive now!  Grrr!  Mack wants to go to the store in D.C., but I have never had the heart to tell her, our experience would be just like this little girls.  Sad, nasty women!

Renovations

I absolutely love this home after it is remodeled!  These are the same people that built the log cabin.  They also built a beautiful tower home in AK.  I am overly impressed with their skills!!!!!!

Or maybe Alaska...

I would love to do this.  I am not sure about the outhouse in the cold winter though!

SawStop

This is an awesome table saw.  I really want a table saw, but am worried about a serious injury.  Now we need to start saving, so we can build our dream log cabin home in a few years.  Mike and I have always dreamed of building our own log cabin on about 20 beautiful wooded acres.  You are all welcome to visit once it is finished.  We are thinking in the hills of NC!

Bad news for America

There is already a shortage of doctors in the medical field, with a huge projection of increased shortages in the near future.  This is only going to make it worse.  It is also going to cost Americans, those not on free health care, more money for their health care.  I can't help but suspect that Obama Care is causing this or making this worse.

Why will our young, bright students choose a career destine for bankruptcy and restrictive government control?  Especially considering the cost and length of schooling a doctor must complete.   They will choose a more profitable career path, only making this problem worse.  What a devastation.

Another problem is the quality of students, most students are not prepared at all for college, let alone medical school.  There are many technical jobs that aren't being filled right now, because people aren't qualified.  Maybe the government should stop buying people cars, paying their mortgages, and "employing" generations of jobless people (funny how it runs in families for generations).  They would be better off to improve public education and help train a professional workforce.  That workforce would fill critically needed positions, create revenue for America, and create jobs from their private practices or small (maybe someday large) businesses.

Or instead we could keep going in the direction we are headed, towards financial and moral ruin.  Maybe my grandkids will be speaking Chinese.
